Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) performs both CLIA-waived and non-waived laboratory procedures under general supervision, exercising a high level of independent judgment. Prior experience is preferred. Candidates must hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.

This role is based in a fast-paced, multispecialty laboratory and involves testing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation. Responsibilities also include specimen processing and assisting with phlebotomy as needed. The CLS will contribute to generating accurate and timely test results used in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.

Schedule:

This is a PRN (as needed) position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The primary responsibility during this time will be performing laboratory testing to ensure same-day results for incoming samples, performing maintenance, and shutting down the laboratory. Initial training would need to be completed during the hours of 9am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Process and handle specimens appropriately
  • Performs maintenance, calibration, quality control and troubleshooting as indicated by procedures

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree and Graduation from Accredited Clinical Laboratory Training Program OR Bachelors in Laboratory Science
  • 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
