In this dynamic position, you’ll expertly draw blood and collect a variety of specimens with precision and a focus on minimizing patient discomfort. Beyond lab duties, you’ll support patient-centered care by assisting with clinical procedures under the guidance of licensed nursing staff (RN/LPN) and physicians. Responsibilities

1. Prepare laboratory equipment and supplies for daily operation (e.g., turn on equipment and computer, retrieve necessary chemicals, reagents, etc.) Inventory lab supplies to ensure sufficient amounts are available and examine expiration dates of chemicals and replace expired products.
2. Prepare samples for analysis and perform requested laboratory tests Perform shut-down procedures on equipment at end of day (e.g., general cleaning, flushing lines, disassembly, return Perform phlebotomy in accordance to the MANA Phlebotomy policy. 3.Collect or receive samples of blood, urine, and other substances for lab analysis Identify and re-administer laboratory tests producing unusual results (e.g., unusually high or low counts, etc.
3. Record, enter and file test results in to computer log books and electronic medical records. Dispose of potentially hazardous samples and materials according to specified guidelines.
4. Prepare samples for delivery to other laboratories and enter in computer. Monitor use and maintenance of lab equipment/instruments by other office personnel.
5. Trouble-shoot and ascertain nature of equipment problems as they arise (e.g., equipment failures, reason for unusual lab results, etc.) Maintain annual CME requirements for personnel registry.
6. Complete paperwork to document patient flow, quality control procedures, charge tickets, etc.

7. PCA-Take and document vital signs and reason for appointment.
8. May also need to document other information as requested by physicians. PCA-Maintain, clean and/or sterilize medical equipment.
9. PCA-Direct patients to proper exam rooms and prepare them for exams or proecdures.
10. PCA-Assist nurses as needed.
11. Float to different MANA clinics when available as requested by MANA administration and access the float pool schedule on a regular basis to assure that you are at the correct clinic at the date and time requested.
12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others.


EXPERIENCE GENERAL
7 to 11 months related experience and/or training.
