The Laboratory Assistant / Laboratory Medical Billing performs duties as a phlebotomist and specimen processor, prepares samples for shipment to reference laboratories, and manages various laboratory billing tasks. This role is responsible for handling faxes and reports to ensure timely delivery of results. Additionally, the position audits charges in Orchard and claims in eCW to confirm accurate posting before submission to insurance. It also reviews all reference lab invoices to verify charges, submits insurance information to reference labs as needed, and investigates denials prior to sending balances to patients.
